The Perfect Gift Ideas For Travel Lovers

If you are reading this then I am guessing you want to buy someone a gift but not sure what to get them. Don’t worry, I’ve got you. If the person you are buying for loves to travel, trust me, getting them a gift is easier than you think.

One of the best parts of buying a gift for a traveller is that there is something for any budget. You can get something they may need for there travels, or something to remind them of how much they love to travel.

We love anything that has a map or airplane on it, a travel quote or something that is useful for us to use while travelling.

That’s why I have put together a list of the perfect gift ideas for travel lovers, to help you pick the right gift for your loved ones.

Jewellery

Jewellery is such a personal gift. We all have our own style and preferences so it might be a bit overwhelming to decide which is the right piece of jewellery to suit the person you are buying for.

Something like a bracelet, anklet or necklace are always a good option as they can pretty much be worn all the time, with any outfit and during any occasion.

As Long as there is a travel inspired charm on it then you’re good to go. If the person is a beach lover, have a look at something with a palm tree charm on it or an under the sea theme.

If they love nature, then go with a mountain charm necklace or a compass charm bracelet. Etsy is a great place to shop online for travel inspired jewellery so I would definitely recommend starting there.

Backpack

This is something that will most likely be used for every trip they go on. Most travellers will need one and the more practical it is the better.

Some of the things to consider is making sure there are lots of pockets, for mobile phones, for water bottles, cameras, travel documents etc…

A backpack that keeps all your stuff organised and easy to find is an instant winner. The traveller will probably be using the backpack every day while travelling so you need to keep in mind the size and also comfortable it is to wear. Amazon offers great options and affordable prices.

Wall Art

If you’re looking for something simple but thoughtful then why not get them some wall art?

Us travel lovers enjoy decorating our homes with anything that has a map on it, a picture that reminds us of our favourite destination or a large frame with a travel quote on it.

Again, Etsy is great for selling wall art, it has become very popular over the last few years so I would recommend starting there.

GoPro

OK, so I know a GoPro isn’t exactly cheap, but if you were looking to spend some money then this camera is a great gift for someone that is always on the go while travelling.

They can make awesome videos while out on activities such as bike riding, winter activities in the snow or even while swimming in the sea.

A GoPro is amazing for capturing memories and also with it being small in size, it makes it an easy camera to carry around and store in your backpack.

Shop around in various stores that sell electronics to try and find the best/cheapest deals.

Portable charger

I know this doesn’t sound like an exciting gift, but it is definitely a convenient one that literally anyone would appreciate.

While travelling we use our phones, laptops or cameras ALOT. Constantly taking pictures, using google maps, searching for local places to see as well as being able to contact someone in an emergency.

It is so important to be able to charge our phones and never run out of battery. So every traveller needs to have one or two portable chargers with them, making this an excellent gift.

Weekend Away

What’s better than creating memories? This is what travellers really want, right?

Surprise them with a weekend away. You do not need to spend a ridiculous amount of money, just have a search online for travel deals.

Book them a city break for a couple of nights or a spa break for a night. Travel companies constantly have great deals so shop around looking for the best deal.

If they love to travel then they will love to go anywhere, somewhere new, somewhere cheap or somewhere they never thought they would go. There are so many options and I guarantee they will love wherever you decide to book.

Tickets to a local attraction

We are constantly daydreaming about where to go next, or planning for that holiday we have already booked that we forget to explore what’s close to us in our hometown.

I have lived in London for nearly 30 years and honestly, I haven’t even done half of the ‘touristy’ stuff there is to do here.

So, why not buy tickets to a museum they might enjoy or take them to see a theatre show? If you live in a big city, you might be spoilt for choice. Find something you think they will enjoy and get them started on exploring their own town.

Planner or Journal

Who doesn’t love a planner or journal. A planner or journal makes a great gift for those that love to plan and be organised.

With a travel planner they can write down their itinerary, write down notes and organise their whole trip.

The best part is that they will be able to keep the planner/journal and look back at it for ideas on their next trip or just to look back at memories.

  1. I like the idea of experiences rather than physical gifts. If you’re going to gift something physical consult someone close to the traveler who might know if they need what you’re considering gifting. Nobody likes a gift that isnt used!

  2. A weekend getaway or attraction tickets are definitely top of my list as a traveler! I don’t need more things, I need more vacations lol!
